Hello, I’m Dina Rudeen the designer and sole hands on maker of all the Hola Luna products.

After receiving a BA in media studies/film, I ended up following a dream to pursue a career in music and have spent my adult years as a performing singer songwriter. Hola Luna began as a labor of love when a lifelong penchant for creating things with my hands coalesced with a growing disinterest in buying mass produced items that have a toxic effect not only on the environment but our minds as well.

I decided one small but meaningful way for me to reconcile my sensibilities for the appreciation of beautiful objects without contributing to the problem of over consumption and waste, would be to start making things for myself, family and friends - particularly upcycling items destined for a landfill.

The name "Hola Luna" came from my late night bike rides through NYC when chancing upon the moon glowing brightly over the buildings on a quiet street. Although I knew it could not hear me, nor certainly answer back, I would often let out a joyous: "Hello Moon!"
